The catastrophic bushfires Australia experienced during summer 2019-20 are a part of our lives that will never be forgotten.
With the generous help of our supporters in Australia and around the world, WWF-Australia was able to support 148 projects and more than 175 partnerships across the country to provide emergency response at scale to those on the frontlines across the country who worked tirelessly to save our wildlife.

Several months after the devastating 2019-20 bushfires, endangered Kangaroo Island dunnarts were spotted on sensor cameras using shelter tunnels that were funded thanks to WWF-Australia and it's supporters.
Food drops for wallabies
Brush-tail rock wallabies in the Blue Mountains are getting a special delivery! WWF-Australia have partnered with Foodbank Australia and Woolworths Supermarkets to supply fresh food via helicopter to wildlife impacted by the bushfires.
Batemans Bay busfire aftermath
The Currowan bushfire tore through New South Wales' south coast on New Year's Eve, 2019. The aftermath was devastating. WWF visited Dr Kate Toyer and Dr Carrie Hawthorn, veterinarians on the south coast of NSW to hear about their experience.
Kangaroo Island glossy black cockatoos
After the bushfires burned through almost half the island, glossy black cockatoos have been spotted nesting in burnt-out habitat.
Annie the koala
This koala was found near Mallacoota in Victoria, suffering burns to her paws from the bushfires. She was treated at Mallacoota triage centre and flown back to Melbourne Zoo where she has been recovering and receiving treatment.
